2) Presidents report - Juhi Kapur
CoVelo continues its 8thyear as a registered cycling club with Cycling Australia in the lower north shore of Sydney. The club co-ordinates 4 ride groups with a focus on social Saturday rides that foster a healthy lifestyle and keep community connections.

Community.
The rider community of CoVelo cycling club comprises of 165 riders registered on Team App. This number well exceeds the financial members belonging to the club.

Riding Activities
In the past year (June 2019 – May 2020) the club has run 42 scheduled rides on Saturdays.
Due to COVID-19, the club rides ceased on 21 March 2020 for rider safety and compliance with NSW Cycling guidelines. In addition to the scheduled rides, many members either individually or in groups also participated in sportives such as Orange, Wagga Gears and Beers, Bowral Classic, Sydney to Gong and many others. The Lane CoVelo Team App introduced in 2018 became the primary channel to publish the ride schedule. For most groups, the ride schedule was published 3-6 months in advance.

Ride Leader Training and First Aid
The club organized 4 members to attend the Cycling Australia ride leader training in September 2019. Peter Myall, Stephen Morgan, Paul Dutch and Juhi Kapur attended.

Club Jerseys
CoVelo refreshed its club kit in 2019. From September to December the club ran a poll for expression of interest, design and poll for selection which resulted in the first kit order delivered in December 2019. A second kit order was run in 2020 and orders placed on 20 April 2020. A total of 50 riders took the opportunity to get club colours.

Social Event
The club had its annual xmas function on 8 Dec 2019 at The Alcott in Lane Cove with good turnout (given all other social commitments in silly season). A big thanks to Jennifer Paggi for organizing this.

2020 is proving to be a particularly challenging year for all. In the shadow of COVID-19, club riding will look very different going forward. Rider safety, both on and off the bike, remains the most important priority for the club. This will require both good stewardship and personal accountability. I would encourage every Lane CoVelo rider to constructively contribute to the club and support the decisions made by the committee so that the club continues to be safe, grow and thrive.

A personal note of thanks to the committee who volunteer their time and energy to keep the administration of club running.
Ride Safe and keep on rolling in 2020.
