Ride Description:
The Duffy's Forest ride is relatively flat, with no steep climbs or descents.

Like most of the Renegade Rides, this follows the Pacific Highway north. This early in the morning there are few problems with traffic. Just after the Mona Vale Rd intersection, you will have to ascend Mona Vale Rd. This is a steady climb and it is possible for the stronger climbers to open a gap on the slower climbers. It is necessary for these stronger riders to stop briefly at the service station at St Ives soon after the hill to allow the group to reform.

The ride along Mona Vale Rd is fairly straight forward but care must be taken where the National Park commences as the cycle lane can be littered with debris. Continue along Mona Vale Rd to Terrey Hills and follow Booralie Rd out to the Joalah Rd intersection before turning around and riding back to the Terrey Hills shops.

There are two methods of returning to Mona Vale Rd, some riders will follow the initial route back but care is required as the lights do not stop the traffic that is heading west. Others will use the underpass to rejoin Mona Vale Rd. The group will ride slowly until everyone has rejoined.

Continue along Mona Vale Rd, descend past the showground and climb the annoying little hill where we regroup for the ride into St Ives. Take care through St Ives as traffic can be heavy and taking the lane is often the safest option. Continue down Mona Vale Rd to the Pacific Hwy where you take the exit ramp on the left and follow the highway back to Lane Cove, Renegade and the Cafe.
